  Introduction:
 

Computer center in Shivaji University established in the year 1986 with grants from U. G. C. The Computer center facilities were augmented by university funds in 1993 & upgraded in 1994 by again U. G. C. grants.

In the administration, computerization is done for examination work, pay roll data processing & other administrative activities. The earlier in house developed system of examination data processing was COBOL based system with manual data entry. We have now replaced this system with ORACLE based system where data entry is done through scanners.

This is expected to reduce the delays in examination result processing & also increase the confidentiality of the process. This system involved expenditure of about 35 Laces of rupees & currently being implemented successfully. Computerization of key section such as Account section, store section is being initiated & will be completed within one year.
