The team of scientists headed by Senior Vice President, Reliance Industries Limited, Mumbai has visited the Shivaji University Campus on October 27, 2017.
The visit was aimed to take overview of the facilities in the Shivaji University Campus required for the R&D projects in the research area of ‘Energy Conversion and Energy Storage’, specifically for the development of materials for solar cells, batteries and supercapacitors. Alongside, the interactions with the researchers working in this research area were also proposed.

2016-17

The ‘Industry-Academia Meet’ was organized by the University Industry Interaction Center (UIIC) jointly with Center of Skill & Entrepreneurship Development and International Affairs Cell, Shivaji University, Kolhapur and CII-Southern Maharashtra Zonal Council was organized an Industry-Academia Meet on 9th and 10th March, 2017. Theme of the meet was “Innovation, Incubation and Collaborative Strategies”. The topics of the panel discussion were ‘Innovation and Incubation’, ‘Start-ups’, ‘Collaborative Strategies’. The sessions were attended by the industrialists in and around Kolhapur representing the various industrial sectors. The university show case was also arranged for the industrialists to explore the facilities in the university campus, may be useful for the industries.

2015-2016

On February 10, 2016, the UIIC has signed MoU with the Leaders in Industry-University Cooperation (LINC) Chonnam National University (CNU), Gwangju, South Korea. This MoU is for collaboration on academic and industry interaction programmes such as,
(a) Visits of industrialists from jurisdiction of Shivaji University to the Industries in South Korea for joint venture, contract orders of products, marketing any other type of business.
(b)Inviting industrial delegations from South Korea to visit business matching industries
(c) Collaborative academic programmesfor exchange of ideas,
(d)Faculty as mentors (from both universities) to studentsfrom the either side on technology / business aspects on informal basis.
(f) Joint visitors programme to faculty and students.

The UIIC conducts meetings with CII as well as industrialists. The purpose of the meetings is to share the information for mutual benefit of the university and industries and to explore ideas in improvement of products through R & D. Amongst the several meetings, one of the meetings with CII South Maharashtra Zonal Council (CII SMZC) was held on 15th July 2015 in the university campus.

Co-ordinator, UIIC, along with faculty members in the university campus has represented university at the meetings of industrialist to check new possibilities of interaction for mutual benefit. The industrial associations have also agreed to invite faculty members in their meetings. These members will act as liaising officers between university and industries
