The University Science Instrumentation Center (USIC) was started by University Grant Commission (UGC) in 1979. The purpose to start this center was to provide in-house central facilities such as (a) Repair and maintenance of scientific instruments (b) Analytical instruments facility and (c) Conduct Workshop and training program for the University departments and affiliated colleges students/technical staff. Initially, Dr. A. S. Jambhale was the full time Head of USIC with 11 technical/administrative staff at the USIC. Now, Prof. R. G. Sonkawade is the Head (i/c ) of USIC.
