Introduction

Census Data Research Workstation (CDRW) has been established at the Department of Statistics, Shivaji University, Kolhapur, in association with the Directorate of Census Operations (DCOs), Maharashtra which is an Office under the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India (ORG&CCI), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. 

This facility was officially inaugurated at the Department of Statistics, Shivaji University Kolhapur, on November 3, 2023, by the Prof. D. T. Shirke, Hon. Vice Chancellor, Shivaji University, Kolhapur and Dr. Nirupama J. Dange, (IAS), Hon. Director, DCO–Maharashtra. 

CDRW aims to promote research using anonymized census microdata. It facilitates research using census data from 2001, 2011, and onwards. CDRW provides researchers with a protected environment to explore and analyze census data, fostering deeper insights into India's population trends and characteristics.
