Message by Hon. Vice Chancellor, Shivaji University, Kolhapur

Dear friends, as a leading university of the nation, the Shivaji University is committed to take the lead in imparting knowledge, core values, skills and involve in high quality research. At the same time the University gives priority to its responsibility and duty towards improving the employability of the workforce, address problems faced by industries and offer innovative solutions to domestic issues. In an effort to expand our innovation capacity, Department of Technology, Shivaji University in collaboration with Indo-German Tool Room (IGTR), Aurangabad has set up 'Advanced Technology Centre' – A Centre for Training, Research and Development - to spearhead collaborative efforts in the domains of hands on training, innovative research for societal benefits and development of the technological aspects in the Western Maharashtra.             

Advanced Technology Centre is a seminal initiative of Department of Technology, Shivaji University with Indo- German Tool Room (IGTR) Aurangabad, a Government of India Society under Ministry of MSME. This new partnership is further committed to encourage research, promote innovation, boost entrepreneurship by providing ultramodern, state-of-the-art facilities and unique integration of manufacturing & training under the aegis of this centre to help the students to develop professional entrepreneurial ability and mindset to set up their own enterprises in near future.  

I am sure that this innovative and dedicated centre of the university will emerge as the pioneer by anticipating the emerging skill needs, reinforcing the role of training and work-based learning to make students employment-ready as per the expectations of the industry.
