Dr. G. G. Jadhav played a very important role in the establishment of the Shivaji University and many other premier educational institutions in Western Maharashtra. He was also honoured with DLit by Shivahi University, Kolhapur in its 22 convocation in 1986. Shivaji University started Padmashree Late Dr. G. G. Jadhav Memorial Lecture series on 20th May every year on his birth anniversary, with the donation from Pudhari Group. Since 1989, veteran editors Kuldeep Nayar, Madhav Gadkari, P. R. Behare, Arun Shouri, Dr. Arun Tikakar, Kumar Ketkar have delivered a lectures in Dr. G.G.Jadhav Memorial Lecture Series.
