Shivaji University, named after Chhatrapati Shivaji, the great Indian Warrior King, is situated in Kolhapur on the beautiful lush green campus of 853 acres. Kolhapur city is known from days immemorial as Dakshina-Kashi with a long and glorious tradition of scholarly and literary activities. Kolhapur is blessed with the progressive and liberal patronage of two great social reformists, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj and Chh. Rajaram Maharaj. It is a centre of education catering to all classes and communities, not only of  the southern Maharashtra but also of the neighboring regions and different countries.

Shivaji University has 283 affiliated colleges and recognized institutes imparting education in faculties of Arts and Fine arts, Social Sciences, Science, Commerce, Education, Law, Engineering and Technology. In pursuit of the academic excellence and enrichment, the university has entered into collaborations with foreign universities in specialized areas and is exploring the great diversity by attracting foreign students and planning of foreign student policy on a global basis for our university, its faculty, and students. The main goal of international affair cell is to attract scholarly international community to nurture the cross-cultural experience. Establishing and enriching the international network of Shivaji University is ultimate goal of IAC.

Director, International Affairs Cell (IAC) takes this opportunity to welcome you all to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India, which is located in the western Maharashtra and is spread on lush green campus. The regional climate is monuments, pleasant and comfortable throughout the year. The University campus is surrounded by historical, ancient heritages and places worth sightseeing. Kolhapur, a renowned city is known for its rich and open culture with good blend of modernization. It is very well connected by air (4 Km), rail (5 Km) and road and is at approachable distance from Pune (4 hrs) and Belgaum (2 hrs).

Shivaji University has several International programs in English catering to various educational needs of the society. The University offers Diploma, UG, PG, M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs in various faculties like Science, Technology, Social  Sciences, Humanity, Commerce and Management, Law, Arts and Fine Arts with a good blend of interdisciplinary aspects. We have nationally and internationally recognized teaching and research faculty winning academic awards and the faculty publications have significant citation index. The University has established strategic partnerships and MoUs with several universities all over the world. Apart from this the University also participates in activities organized by Indian Council for Cultural Relation (ICCR). Well furnished International Hostel for foreign students is build with capacity to accommodate 24 students catering their needs. At present we have 53 international students on campus pursuing their higher education (bachelors, masters and Ph.D. program) spanning countries like Iran, Iraq, Bangladesh, Kenya, Afghanistan, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Sudan, South Sudan, Mongolia, Nepal, Tanzania, Botswana, Syria,Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Malawi etc. More students are getting attracted towards Shivaji University, thus attempts and efforts to encouraging more students is underway.
