Computer Center in Shivaji University is established in the year 1986. Keeping pace with the prime objective of UGC in establishing Computer Centers in Universities, this Center is helping the university in the developments in the information and communication technologies (ICT) from 1986. With the financial assistance from UGC for initial 10 years (i.e. up to year 1996) University is running this Center from it’s own fund from last 20 years. This is the Central computing facility provided for the growth and development of teaching, research and other ICT related activities of the University. The Computer Center is equipped with modern technology Blade Servers and Manageable Storage Systems.
A State of Art Data Center is developed and inaugurated On 18th June 2012. All the Data Center activities are performed by Computer Center under the guidance of Special Technical Committee established under the Chairmanship of Dr D.T Shirke, HOD Statistical Department.
Data Center is Nerve Center of Shivaji University. All major computing devices are centrally hosted in this center. Users access the servers in the data center from across locations. It is secured, reliable, scalable and available 24 hours 365 days.
