10-Apr-2022: Prof. (Dr.) Sachin S. Panhalkar, Shri. Abhijit S. Patil, Shri. Sudhir K. Powar and Smt. Shobha N. Lohar, Faculty members / Research students of the Department of Geography, Shivaji University, Kolhapur has received IITB-AICTE Mapathon 2022 Map Making Competition Champions Award organized by IIT, Bombay in March 2022.

27-Feb-2021: Prof. (Dr.) Sachin S. Panhalkar, Shri. Abhijit S. Patil and Shri. Sudhir K. Powar, Faculty members of the Department of Geography, Shivaji University, Kolhapur has received Mapathon Championship Award - 2021 jointly organized by IIT, Bombay, AICTE and ISRO held at IIT, Bombay in February 2021.

01-Jan-2020: Dr. Sumanta Dandapath, Assistant Professor, Department of Geography, Shivaji University, Kolhapur has received 'Geeta Mukhopadhyay Best PhD Thesis Award 2017' for the best doctoral research work carried out in CSIR - National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Dona Paula, Goa in the year 2017.

27-Dec-2019: Prof. (Dr.) Jagdish Bhagwat Sapkale, Professor, Department of Geography, Shivaji University, Kolhapur has received approval/grants for a major research project from SERB, DST, Govt. of India [Sanctioned amount Rs. 32,44,784/-; Scheme: DST-SERB (EEQ); Project Duration: 3 years, w.e.f: 27-Dec-2019]

18-Nov-2019: The Department of Geography has been awarded Administrative Excellence Award 2019 (Special Appreciation) by Shivaji University, Kolhapur for administrative quality and ranking (4th rank) among PG Departments of the University.
