On the occasion of 50 Glorious Years of the Department of Foreign Languages, SUK, organized a program: International Multidisciplinary Symposium “Open pages in South Asian Studies IV” in collaboration with the Department of Marathi (SUK), Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow, Russia & the International centre for South Asian Studies.
Theme: THE CONTEMPORARY DYNAMICS OF SOUTH ASIA – 2022.
Conference Format: The three-day conference comprised 9 plenary sessions, with 23 speakers.
Eminent speakers: Prof. Dr. Romila Thapar, Prof. Ganesh Devi, Prof. Prabhat Patnaik, Mr. Kumar Ketkar, Mr. Saeed Naqvi and many others.
The foreign experts were Dr. Taimur Rahman (Pakistan), Dr. Nimalka Fernando (Sri Lanka), Prof. Mahendra Lawoti (Nepal-USA), Ms. Khushi Kabir (Bangladesh), Dr. Azra Sayeed (Pakistan), Ms. Farwa Shafqat (Pakistan).

“Chopstick Painting Workshop”
All students had an opportunity to learn about the cultural significance of chopsticks in various Asian countries. They enjoyed learning different techniques and styles of painting on chopsticks. The expert explained the participants the proper way to use chopsticks. |
