Basically from Kolhapur. Studied Russian for two years at the Department of Foreign Languages, Shivaji University. Completed Certificate and Diploma Courses in Russian in 1972.
Then did M.A. in Russian from JNU, New Delhi. Went to USSR on Govt. of India scholarship for Ph.D. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1983 from the Moscow State University, Moscow.
Then started working with the Russian Government as a translator. Translated around 36 books from Russian into Marathi. Worked on Moscow Radio, as well as on documentaries.
Then shifted to the business field. He has been living in Moscow for 42 years.
At present working with the Nuclear Power Ministry of Russia as a Coordinator of the Indian Project at Kudankulam, Tamil Nadu and another six units in Andhra Pradesh for the last 8 years. |
