MISSION

To start the courses in the emerging areas (as per UGC guide lines) like Nanotechnology, Computational Physics, etc. so as to develop it as an advanced centre Material Science Engineering
 

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POs)

To create, apply, and disseminate knowledge of Physics in theoretical and experimental domains under different specializations.

To develop the ability to identify, formulate, analyse and solve problems in these domains of Physics at both curricular and research level through critical thinking.

To enable students to apply ICT based skills and making them scientific software literate to use in academics.

To encourage research culture, provide research ambience and develop related technical proficiency.

To develop attitude to pursue further research. 

To inculcate academic and social ethical values among the students.
 

PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)

PSO1

Student are able to apply the knowledge of core concepts of physics in semester exams, in the final year research level projects work and in the NET, SET and GATE, MOOC National level examinations and are able to communicate/present the project work/research work through conferences and research papers as well.

PSO2 

Through assignments, NET-SET workshop and research based project work in both theoretical and experimental domains students are able to revel analytical skills and critical thinking

In day today presentations and access to study material, students are capable enough to make use of PPT, Moodle, and Web-based academic links and can get hands on experience of using proprietary software like Matlab, Mathematica

Through the research cultural of the department and skills acquired, students are capable of sustaining subsequent academic progression inside the country and overseas as well

Self-declaration of the authenticity and uniqueness of project work, plagiarism check, and departmental scrutiny etc. ensures the ethics in the field of research publication
