Research facility

The department provides research facilities to M. Phil. and Ph. D. students.
Almost all guides under the faculty of Commerce (who are teachers working in the colleges affiliated to the University) are associated with the department as guides recognised for Ph. D.
The department allows to research students to undertake their research as (a) Fellows from UGC (b) Teacher Research Fellows under FIP and (c) Doctoral Fellows from ICSSR.
The department conducts training programme (Bridge Course) on ‘Quantitative Techniques and Computer Application’ for research scholars in the subject of Commerce and Management, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Philosophy and History etc.
The department conducts training for research scholars about writing research proposal, research report-writing, research ethics with avoiding plagiarism etc.
The department motivates research scholars to improve the quality of research proposals and pre-final draft of dissertation and thesis by scrutinizing them rigorously.
The Department has been recognized as a Centre for research in Rural Banking by Bank of India through Bank of India Chair.
The Department has been recognized as a Centre for Financial Management and Banking Research by IDBI Bank through Late. Shri R. N. Godbole Chair.
