Located in the scenic campus of Shivaji University Kolhapur, the School of Nanoscience and Technology got established in 2012 and there is no looking back since then. The school is funded by the State Government of Maharashtra on the eve of Golden Jubilee Celebration year of the University.  The school   is   co-ordinated by Dr. K. K. Sharma, and it is an active beehive of research in a wide variety of frontier areas likeMaterials Science,Solid State Physics, Thin/Thick Films, Nanoelectronics, Nanomedicine, Nanobiotechnology,Nanomicrobiology Environmental Nanotechnology etc.  The school offers B.Sc.-M.Sc.Nanoscience and technology (5 years integrated) course.

           Department has flexibility in framing courses, conducting tests and examinations. The school has well qualified and dynamic faculty members who impart concept-basedknowledge to the students. The faculty members inspire the students towards the project-based learning. The faculty is also very active in organizing science exhibitions and research project competition for students. The school is first in university for implementing the mini projects like Prerna, Kalpana, Shrujan and Nirmiti right from the B.Sc. first year to M.Sc. first year. Final year of B.Sc.-M.Sc. 5 year’s integrated course is dedicated to Project.
