ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT

•      Department is DST FIST supported UGC SAP I and II assisted, PL-480, IPLS, DST PURSE Programmes
•      The department is recognized by UGC, New Delhi under the Special Assistance Programme (SAP). Following Thrust Areas have been identified
                DRS-SAP–I: Thrust area: Biodiversity and Bio-resources of Western Ghats and Coastal Areas.
                DRS-SAP-II: Biodiversity and Bioprospecting of plant resources of Western Ghats and Coastal resources
•      Department has received Rs. 8,16,72, 059 amount during 2014 -2019 from various agencies.
•     Botanical Garden of the department is recognized as a ‘Lead Garden’ of the Western Maharashtra, in 2008( Phase I),  sanctioned Phase II in 2014 and Phase III in 2019 by the Ministry of Environment & Forest, New Delhi.
•      Department has International recognition : Herbarium is recognized with acronym 'SUK'
•      Department has ‘Sub Center’ for Grass systematic
