About Conference
International Affairs Cell (IAC), Shivaji University, Kolhapur (SUK) jointly with the Indian JSPS Alumni Association (IJAA), is organizing the 13th India-Japan Science and Technology conclave: “International Conference on Frontier Areas of Science and Technology, (ICFAST-2023) during September 8-9th, 2023, at the Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) was founded in 1932 with an imperial endowment, the JSPS is Japan’s sole independent funding agency dedicated to the advancement of science across a wide and diverse spectrum of program initiatives, including the funding of scientific research, the promotion of international scientific exchange, and the reform and internationalization of Japanese Universities. JSPS provides stable and steady support for the activities of researchers. Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) promotes and extends sponsorship to global JSPS Alumni Associations to conduct international conferences in their respective countries.
IJAA regularly conducts Science and Technology conclaves to serve as the platform for scientists from India and Japan to come together and discuss the cutting-edge research happening in both countries as well as in the world. The aim of these activities is to provide a forum for researchers across the globe, working in frontier areas of science and technology covering all the streams of physical sciences, chemical sciences, life sciences, computational and mathematical sciences, and engineering & technology to report they are significant findings and to share insights of their novel research.
Researchers from all scientific fields, backgrounds, and employment sectors from students to top scientists, including Nobel Laureates and bureaucrats converge at these events to exchange technical information, engage in broader impact programming, network with friends and colleagues and contribute to the advancement of science and technology. In addition, scientific poster exhibits, Japanese University booths, and Science and Technology company booths add to the interactive meeting experience, present innovative information to the scientific community, and in turn, allow to gather information to develop collaboration and partnership between Indian and Japanese institutions as well as research funding and fellowship opportunities.
This year IAC, SUK & IJAA are jointly organizing the conference to commemorate the 71st Anniversary of India-Japan diplomatic relations. The Group of Twenty (G20) Presidency marks the beginning of “Amritkaal”, the 25-year period beginning from the 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav on 15th August 2022, leading up to the centenary of its independence, towards a futuristic, prosperous, inclusive, and developed society, distinguished by a human-centric approach at its core. The G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation and it plays an important role in shaping and strengthening global architecture and governance on all major international economic issues.
All are invited to join and participate in the 13th India-Japan Science and Technology conclave. The conference is having multiple parallel sessions, comprising keynote addresses, plenary sessions, and invited talks for life science and physical science. The topical scope of the conference is broad, and will cover discussions on but not limited to the following Research areas:
