Dear Friends,
I am happy to announce that on the occasion of
golden jubilee year of Shivaji University, Maharashtra State Government has
assured financial assistance of Rs. 50 crores; Rs. 45 crores as a non
recurring grant and Rs. five crores as a recurring grant. State government had
convened a special meeting, to consider the project proposals submitted by
Shivaji University to the State Government. The meeting was chaired by Hon.
Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Ajitdada Pawar. Around six other members of the
Council of ministers were present for the meeting. It was very heartening to
receive appreciation of Shivaji University from honorable ministers.
Considering the competence of our University, State government was generous to
give us a good amount of grant.
To utilize this grant Shivaji University is
preparing fresh proposals. These include School of Nano Science and
Technology, Yashwantrao Chavan School of Rural Development, Rajarshee
Chhatrapati Shahu Research Centre and Museum Complex, School of Physical
Education and Sports Complex, Yuva Vikas Kendra and Golden Jubilee faculty
house.
Next month on 18th November the golden Jubilee
year will commence. On 18th November Shivaji University has organized an
inaugural function of the Golden Jubilee year. Hon. Chancellor, Shri. K.
Shankarnarayanan will be the chief guest of the function. Prithvirajji Chavan
will preside over the function. Hon. Deputy Chief Minister Shri. Ajitdada
Pawar, Minister for Higher and Technical Education Shri. Rajesh Tope and State
Minister for Higher, Technical and Medical Education Shri D. P. Sawant will
also be present for the function.

stakeholders of the University for this Important Function.
