Department of Science and Technology , Government of India (DST) has
sanctioned a Major Research Project entitled “Preparation and Characterization
of mixed Metal Oxide Nanoparticles loaded with Noble Metals and its
Photocatalytic Applications” This project comes under Nanoscience and
Nanotechnology. The amount of Rs 19.9 lakhs has sanctioned for a period three
years. The theme of the project is to prepare nanomaterials of mixed oxides by
using very simple method. Nanomaterials as a photocatalyst are an emerging
area today. Nanosized TiO2 photocatalyst water splitting has great potential
for low cost, environmental friendly solar hydrogen production to support the
future hydrogen economy. The development of visible light active photo
catalysts, therefore, has become one of the most important topics in
photocatalyst research today. Dr. K. M. Garadkar is working as Associate
Professor in the Department of Chemistry,Shivaji University, Kolhapur. He has
published more than 50 papers in the international journals. Presently 5
students are working under his guidance for Ph.D degree and two students are
awarded the the degree under his guidance in the field of Nanoscience and
Nanotechnology.
In
view of the contribution in the field of Material Science, the International
Journal of Advanced Chemical Technology ( IJACT) selected Dr. K. M. Garadkar
as a Member of Editorial Board recently.
