On
the occasion of golden jubilee year of Shivaji University and Earth Day one
day workshop was arranged on 21st April 2012.The programme was a collaborative
effort of Department of Environmental Science, Department of Economics,
Department of Sociology and Center for study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive
Policies. Hon. Shri. Anandrao Patil, Convener, Chikotra Pathdarshi Prakalp was
the guest of honor of this function. In his speech he explained the basic idea
of equitable distribution of water resource. He also explained how every
person at grass root level will be benefited by implementation of this idea.
He also explained the importance of such concept for sustainable development
of society.
Many
academicians and well- known persons from NGO’s also expressed their views
regarding equitable distribution of resources. Discussion on different issues
like equitable distribution of water with social perspective, ecofriendly
attitude, difficulties in implementation of such programme, etc. took place.
Dr. S. A. Salunkhe, Dr. R.G.Dandage and Dr. P. D. Raut from Shivaji University
and Shri. Uday Gaikawad and Shri. Uday Kulkarni from NGOs worked as resource
persons. Prin. A. B. Rajage, Director, B.C.U.D., Shivaji University was the
chair person of the function.
