Shivaji University was established on 18th November 1962. On the eve of Golden
Jubilee of the Shivaji University, an Alumni meet was arranged on 22nd
October, 2011 at the Convocation hall in the University. The main aim of this
Alumni Meet was to involve the past student of this University in the
celebrations of Golden Jubilee year. Many alumni of the University are
successful in different fields like Arts, Commerce, Technology, Business,
Medicine, etc. throughout the nation and also worldwide.
Eminent technocrat, Dr. Deepak Shikarpur, was the chief guest of the function.
He gave a thought provoking speech on avenues in business sector. His highness
Chh. Shahu Maharaj, was the chairperson of the function. He said that the
Shivaji University has created talented student who are now working in various
sectors all over the world. He also wished that this will continue in the
future. Addressing the Alumni, Hon. Vice Chancellor, Dr. N.J Pawar, appealed
the alumni to extend their cooperation to the University for its development.
In response to his appeal many students declared financial contribution to the
University. Shri. Suhas Gadekar alumni of Dept. of Electronics, presently
working with Oracle Company, USA, declared a donation of Rs 1 lakh to the
University.

P. N. Bhosale, Prof. Dept. of Applied Chemistry and President of Alumi
Association welcomed the dignitaries. Dr. B.M. Hirdekar, COE, Shri. B.S. Patil
, F.A.O., Dr. D.V Muley, Registrar and Dr. R. K. Kamat, Secretary, Alumni
Association, were present on the dais.
