Ozone
layer depletion is a global problem in today’s concern. To sensitize the mass
population about the thinning of ozone layer, World Ozone Day was celebrated
on 16th September all over world. On this occasion, the Camouflage Nature Club
of Department of Environmental Science, Shivaji University organized a guest
lecture on “Conservation of Rare Species of Western Ghats”. Prof. S. R. Yadav,
Dept. of Botany, Shivaji University, Kolhapur was key speaker for this
program. During the lecture, he explained the importance of plant species from
western ghat and need to conserve it. Welcome and introduction of this
function was given by Ms. A. S. Jadhav, Lecturer, Department of Environmental
Science. Vote of thanks was given by Mr. V. V. Jadhav. The Faculty members Ms.
S. G. Chonde and Ms. R. R. Ingawale, Department of Environmental Science, were
present for the workshop. All the research students and M. Sc. Part I and II
students of Environmental Science Department were attended the program. This
program was taken under Silver Jubilee year celebrations of Department of
Environmental Science.
