FROM THE VICE CHANCELLOR’S DESK :

Dear Friends,

We have come to the end of the academic year. The teachers are busy assessing the papers and very soon all the results will be declared. Next month new batch of students would enter the arena of the higher education. As Vice Chancellor of Shivaji University I welcome them on the campus. Our students are intelligent, vibrant and versatile. However, they lag behind in the communication and presentation. In order to overcome these flaws, it is essential that they must learn English and develop communication skill. They should not averse themselves from English and establish mastery over it. In the Global World one must be well acquainted with English. It will be better if they learn one additional foreign language.

To equip students with English communication skills, University has taken various initiatives. We have started. English communication skill classes. The Placement and Counseling Cell of the University is a nodal agency in this respect. Students should not leave any stone unturned to develop communication skill. Their own initiative and efforts can lead them to success.

University also has a Foreign language Department. Languages such as German, French, Japanese and Russian are taught at the Department. Students doing post graduation on the campus may also start learning these foreign languages and empower themselves to compete in the global market.
