Shivaji University has been recently included into the National Knowledge
Network sponsored by the Central Government. The University is the first in
Maharashtra to be included in such scheme. The scheme will enable the
University to share information regarding academic, researchand administrative
matters. The students will be able to participate in the lectures conducted in
other Univrsities and will also be able to participate in the programs.
Moreover, the e-journals and e-book facility will be made available to the
students. The internet speed will be increased up to 1 gb/ps. The BSNL has
accepted the responsibility to furnish the University with network and 75 % of
the amount required for the project will be invested by the Central
Government.
