A
guest lecture on “Applications of Bioinformatics and Chemoinformatics” was
delivered by Shri. Aftab Khan, Director, Rasa Life Science informatics, Pune
on Friday 13th August, 2010 in the Department of Biochemistry, Shivaji
University, Kolhapur. All students of Bioinformatics Diploma course, M.Sc.
students of Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Environmental
Biotechnology and research students attended the lecture. Shri. Khan explained
the importance of Bioinformatics in life science research and drug discovery
process. Dr. K.D. Sonawane, Co-ordinator, PG Diploma in Bioinformatics and
Professor S. P. Govindwar, Head, Department of Biochemistry were present on
the occasion.
