The
students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication met President
Shrimati Pratibatai Devisingh Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.
The meeting was arranged as part of a study tour by the department to New
Delhi.The department undertakes a study tour of students to New Delhi every
year. The students get a first hand experience of the working of the
Parliament and get an oppurtunity to meet Union Ministers and top officials of
the government of India during the study tour.
Dr.
Nisha Pawar-Mudhe, Assistant Professor greeted welcomed the President and
appraised her of the syllabus and various activities of the department. The
students also had the opportunity to interact with Shri. Sushilkumar Shinde,
Union Minister for Energy and Shri. Prithviraj Chavan, Minister of State in
Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). The students also visited the Press Trust of
India (PTI), Press Club of India, RNI, Maharashtra Information Centre and the
All India Institute of Mass Communication. Twenty-eight students of the BJC
department participated in the study tour.
