Shivaji University celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2009, Acting Vice
Chancellor Prof. A. A. Dange, garlanded the picture of the Mahatma in the main
administrative building. Prof. R. B. Patil, Director, BCUD, Prof. R. G. Dandage,
Registrar, Heads of the academic departments, officers of the University, Shri
Hanmant Kulkarni, the guest of the function, Shri Dattaji Shinde, veteran
freedom fighter, faculty & students also paid tributes to the Mahatma.
Thereafter a guest lecture was organized by Centre of Gandhian Studies at the
Humanities Auditorium. Shri Hanmant Kulkarni, Solapur, a special invitee,
delivered lecture on Gandhi & his philosophy. Vice Chancellor Prof. A. A. Dange
chaired the session. Dr. Bharati Patil, Coordinator of the Centre of Gandhian
Studies, welcomed the guests. Heads of the academic departments, officers of the
University ,students & the faculty were present on the occasion.
