University Organsied a lecture of Principal P. B. Patil on the occasion of birth
anniversary of Chh. Shahu Maharaj speaking on the occasion Prin. Patil pointed
out the misuse made by Political Parties of religion to fulfill their selfish
interest. It is essential to promote the principle of equality and social
justice to save the society from the clutches of selfish politics. In his
lecture ‘Shahu & the legacy of Satyashodhak movement’, Prin. Patil stressed the
need of imbibing the values taught by Chh. Shahu in the society. He further
said, ‘Removing the barrier of caste divisions is the biggest challenge before
the Progressive movement’.
Prof.
Bhalbha Vibhute, Director, Adult Education, chaired the , programme. Dr. Bharati
Patil, Co-ordinaator, Centre of Gandhian Studies gave on introduction. Dr. D. T.
Shirke,Acting Registrar, proposed vote of thanks. The program was organized in
the Humanities Auditorium and was very well attended.
