Dear Friends,
In the middle of the month of July when the
campus is beautiful and green, I hope that the classes have begun well and the
students have got acquainted with the campus. As I have pointed out in our
dialogue, I have asked our students to know the campus which is the biggest
University campus in our state. It is everybody’s responsibility to protect,
preserve, and develop our campus. We must keep it clean. Students should visit
the library which is one of the richest and biggest libraries in the state.
All the facilities are created to help the students because the students are
heart of the University. The Universities have a major function to train the
man-power for the development of the country.
Shivaji University is the first University in Maharashtra to begin its post-
graduate classes in the second week of June, and now it is the responsibility
of the students to take maximum advantage of extra time they get for studies.
The University is ready to offer them all the necessary facilities and support
which is required to bring about their academic development. We expect that
they should avail these facilities to achieve their goals, and qualify the
exams with flying colours. We have a good record of placement of students
after completion of their studies.
By the end of this month, we shall complete our admission procedure for M.
Phil. classes. M. Phil. students should consider this as a beginning of their
research career and start working for their dissertation in right earnest
because if a proper tempo of study is maintained it is possible to complete
the work within a stipulated period of time. We are seeking to resuscitate our
M. Phil. program as there is a renewed interest of the students in the M.
Phil. Courses in all the faculties. But it is our responsibility to see that
these courses are given new content and it is the responsibility of the
students and teachers to maintain the standard of the course. M. Phil. is a
research degree and it is our endeavor to enrich the content of the degree.
