Rotary Club,
Shivaji University’s Law Department & Flame University, Pune had jointly
organized a seminar on ‘Limitations of safe Abortions & Female Infanticide’.
Dr. Yashwant Thorat, former president of NABARD, delivering the keynote
address said “In the well off cities the practice of female infanticide is
more prominent, hence it is essential awaken the urban people to maintain the
Gender ratio. He further urged lawyers, doctors, social workers to come
forward and address this issue & awaten the society about its evil
consequences.
Prof. Ajit Dange,
director BCUD asserted that the technological advancement has helped the human
society to great extend however simultaneously the same technological
advancement is being misused. Amniocentesis center’s is on apt example of such
misuse. He motivated students, especially girl student to awaken people about
female infanticide.
In this
seminar eminent scholars such as Smt. Sadhana Zadbuke, Adv. Santosh Shah, Dr.
Niranjan Shah, Dr. Kimaya Zadhake, Sudhir Parkhe also participated. The
Seminar was organized by Dr. Ramkrishna Nayak, Head Dept. of Law.
