Slide Show on “Biodiversity of Western Ghats” by Department of Environmental Science

          Nature club ‘Camouflage’ of the Department of Environmental Science, Shivaji University, Kolhapur organized a slide show on “Biodiversity of Western Ghats” on Saturday, 12^th July 2008. Dr. P. D. Raut, Reader and Head of the Dept. Environmental Science explained the purpose of this programme in his introductory speech. The guest speaker of the programme Mr. Suhas Waingankar, Educational officer WWF, Kolhapur Division gave detailed information about flora and fauna in Western Ghats during his presentation. Many beautiful slides of plants, animals, insects, birds, reptiles, etc. were show with their role in functioning and balance of ecosystem.

          All the faculty members, research students, M. Sc. I and II students, Mr. Farukh Mehetar and Mr. Amol Lavekar from Green Guards attended this slide show. Mr. Harish   Kulkarni proposed the vote of thanks.
