Shivaji University Political Science association held its 20th
Conference at Sangli on 14th and 15th March, 2008. The
Conference was held at Dr. Patangrao Kadam College Sangli and more than 71
delegates from different colleges of Shivaji University attended it.
The Conference was inaugurated by an eminent Political Scientist and
intellectual Principal P. B. Patil, who bemoaned declining moral standards in
public life and erosion of power of popular bodies. He said that Gandhian
vision of alternative Politics should be properly studied. Ad. Dattagirao Mane
in his Presidential speech argued that there was decline of Judiciary in India
and Corruption and power of bureaucracy was increasing at the Cost of rights
of people. Mr. T. G. Pawar delivered Presidential address and high lighted
dangers of Communalism.

Jamadar, HOD, Department of Political Science of the College introduced the
guests and Principal of the College welcomed the guests and Mr. A. R. Patil
General Secretary of the association proposed vote of thanks. More than 15
papers were presented in the Conference.
