The “Campaign on University Research and Training” (COURT-2006) was recently
organized in the University during 6th and 7th October,
2006. It was attended by more than eight hundred research
students, guides and faculty members.
The function was inaugurated by Dr. R.S. Mali, Ex. Vice-Chancellor of North
Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. Speaking on the occasion he stressed the
need for quality research which will cater to the needs of the society. Hon.
V.C. Dr. M.M. Salunkhe was the President of the function. He briefed the
efforts being taken by Shivaji University in an effort to improve the quality
of research in our university. Apart from the holding the poster and oral
presentation sessions, subject wise lead lectures were also arranged in each
department, during these days. The best three poster presentations followed by
oral presentations were awarded with the Certificate of Excellence.
The concluding function was held on 7th evening. Dr. Irfan Khan of
TALEEM, Ahmedabad was the Chief Guest. Prof. Dr. A. A. Dange, Director, BCUD
was in the chair.
Dr. B.K. Chougule, Dr. V.B. Jugale and Dr. J.A. Shinde worked as coordinators
for Science, Social Sciences & Arts faculties respectively.
