Shahu Research Centre

Under Shivaji University this Centre is established in 1974. The aims and Objectives of the Centre     To collect available data to study the history and culture of Maharashta in general and mostly the various facts of the life and work of Rajarshi Shahu Chhatrapati Maharaja of Kolhapur. In the Centre following collection of Books and Papers are available here which are donated or collected by Scholars. 

1. Dr.A.G. Pawar, founder and first Vice-Chancellor of Shivaji University who collected  papers from various  places and published them.  He also donated some books also; related Kolhapur History.

2. Late MLA P.B.  Salonke who was donated their collection of Books.

3. Late Bhai Madhavrao Bagal who have deep study in Chh.Shahu Life also donated their books and papers to Centre.

4. Shri P.S. Patil also donated their books and papers.

             Here we also made available old periodicals, old news paper regarding Chh.Shahu's Life.  Here we also made  available files of personal, political and social matter mainly written by Rajarshi Shahu and related to Chh.Shahu's Life.  Dr.Vilas Sangave is Honorary Director of this Centre and  under his supervision.
            Centre has published  some important papers from above collection.  Rajarshi Shahu Chhatrapati papers Vol.I to VII already published by Centre and Vol.VIII is ready for publication.
            Shahu Lokjeevan Vastu Sangrahalaya is another section of Shahu Centre here we Presurved  the articals which people use under period of Shahu Chhatrapati.
