The Shivaji University has signed
an MOU with Intel India Ltd. in 2003, to train the
Teachers of the B.Ed. colleges, to ultimately
enable Technology Aided Learning, viz. Lesson
Plans, Unit plans, Evaluation Tools, Project Based
Learning , Activity Based learning, by the B.Ed.
students. This training program was initiated and
supported by the Hon.Vice-Chancellor, Prof. M. M
Salunkhe.

MoU with Asian Institute of Technology (A.I.T.),
Thailand |

On 6 July 2005, AIT
and Shivaji University (SU), Kolhapur, India,
established a cooperation program to develop human
resource and build institutional capacity through
a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Prof. Said
Irandoust (third from right), AIT President, and
Prof. M. M. Salunkhe (fourth from left), Vice
Chancellor of Shivaji University, Kolhapur, India.
The five-year cooperation program will provide a
higher education opportunities for staff members
of SU, promote institutional linkage between SU
and AIT, and to explore other avenues for possible
collaboration.

The program includes
Collaborative Research Programs; Student Exchange
Programs; Faculty Exchange Programs; and other
forms of cooperation. According to the
cooperation, AIT and SU will jointly identify
specific fields to conduct collaborative research
programs of mutual interest and beneficial to both
institutions. SU faculty and students will further
join the exchange programs. AIT and SU will share
the information on each other's programs and
activities as well.
Shivaji University, established in 1962, has about
200,000 students studying in 194 affiliated
colleges and recognized institutes. SU offers
study programs in 10 major faculties of Arts &
Fine Arts, Societal Science, Science, Commerce,
Education, Law, Medicine, Ayurvedic Homeopathy
Education, Engineering and Technology.

The Microsoft
Corporation (India) Pvt. Ltd has offered their
'Information Technology and Education' course in
lieu of Optional Paper V. M.Ed. 2005-2006 Course
by signing MoU on 8th August, 2005 between Shivaji
University, Kolhapur and Microsoft Corporation
(India) Pvt. Ltd., for a period of 5 years. The
purpose of the training programme for teacher
educators and M. Ed. course students of Shivaji
University is for promoting research, education
and application of IT education with a view to
benefit the education system.

Looking at the social
needs and skills of human resource pertaining to
leather industry in the Shivaji University
jurisdiction . A MoU has
been signed with CLRI. This MOU will give the
visibility to the leather artisan, manufacturers,
tanners. Women empowerment, new
academic programs an in house P. G.
diploma to train the workers in this sector have
also been planned with the cooperation of CLRI.
The MOU will be based on sharing the resources by
developing common facilities for the benefit of CLRI and Shivaji University, Kolhpaur.

The Shivaji University has signed
an MOU with M/s S. G. Phyto Pharma, Gokul Shirgaon,
Kolhapur in 2008. M/s S. G. Phyto Pharma is a
manufacturer of scientific and ayurvedic
medicines/herbal drugs, herbomineral based ayurvedic
medicines that include capsules, oils, liniments,
bhasmas, rasayans etc., and these products are
marketed throughout India through widespread
marketing channels. This range of products are
strictly permitted and promoted through medical
professions. The Phyto Pharma is interested in the
detailed active principles of the herbal drugs used
against various diseases to be investigated in
collaboration with the Department of Biochemistry
and Department of Botany, Shivaji University,
Kolhapur.
