Library Reading Hall
The library has a specious reading hall for the benefit of PG Students of the University and students,
who are appearing for MPSC, NET/SET, UPSC, ICWA & other competitive examinations. The reading hall has some core text books, which are available
for consultation within the reading hall. The number of such books is 1157. The present seating capacity of the hall is around 375. The timings
of the reading hall are : 6.00 a.m. to 12.00 am midnight.
Following are rules and regulations for making use of Reading Hall :
- Membership is available to:
- Post Graduate students of the University
- NET/SET, M.Phil./Ph.D./Competitive exam.students
- Membership fees for students appearing for MPSC, NET/SET, UPSC, ICWA & other competitive examinations is Rs. 500/- in the form of
deposit and Rs. 60/- monthly fee. P.G. students can avail the facility by producing Identity Card of the University
- Books issued need to be consulted within reading hall's premises
- Talking over mobile is strictly prohibited in the reading hall

Study Centre
As per the guidelines of UGC and State Government, Shivaji University Study Centre was established to provide reading facilities to affiliated college undergraduate
students in Kolhapur city and Post-Graduate students in the University Departments.
The Centre is situated on University Campus in a separate Aeroplane shaped building and was inaugurated at the hands
of then Vice-Chancellor Dr.A.G. Pawar in the year 1972. The centre presently has 12,546 books in its collection and subscribes to 5 magazines and
2 daily newspapers. The seating capacity of the Centre is 200.
The study centre is open between 6.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m. midnight on all the working days, Sundays & Holidays.
Following are the rules and regulations for making use of the Study Centre:
- Membership is available to:
- Under-Graduate Students of the affiliated Colleges in Kolhapur city
- Post-Graduate students of the University
- NET/SET, M.Phil./Ph.D./Competitive exam.students
- Students of affiliated colleges in Kolhapur City need to forward their membership forms through College Principal
- The membership fees is Rs. 132/- per student per academic year for affiliated college students. P.G. students
can avail the facility by producing Identity Card of the University
- Books and other reading materials issued need to be consulted within centre's premises
- Talking over mobile is strictly prohibited in the Study Centre

Reference Facility:
The library has up-to-date, qualitative reference collection of Dictionary, Encyclopedias, Yearbook, Maps etc. on
various disciplines. Apart from that various reports like census report, Major/minors project report, annual reports etc. are available in
reports section of the library.
Also the Library has separate Thesis and Dissertation Section for researchers.
The Outsider has to pay Rs.20=00 per day for availing reference facility.
