1. M. A. : Bachelor's Degree in Arts or Social Sciences of this University or any other statutory University recognised as equivalent thereto, in the subject concerned. If there are posts vacant then only General B. A. students will be considered with the prior permission of Higher authority/Eligibility section.

   1. M. Sc. : Bachelor's Degree in Science of this University or any other statutory University recognised as equivalent thereto, in the subject concerned, However, general B. Sc. Students need not apply. (From the academic year 1999-2000 Semester System is introduced to M. Sc. Course) Admission will be given to that subject which has been offered by the student at Principal level of the B. Sc. course. Subsidiary subject at the B. Sc. Degree may be considered for admission if the student has obtained at least 50% marks in that subject.

   2. Selection of candidates will be made on the basis of marks obtained at the Special/Principal subjects offered at the B. A./B. Sc. examination. The merit list of the M.A./M. Sc. Science subjects only will be made on the basis of marks obtained at special/principal subjects at the Degree level & Entrance Examination marks.

   3. M. Sc. (Environmental Science) : Admission to the course will be open to candidates possessing the following degrees of this University or any other statutory University.
      a) B. Sc. with Physics / Chemistry / Botany / Zoology / Mathematics / Statistics / Agriculture * Pollution / Bio-Chem. / Geography (B. Sc. / B. A.) / Geology / Microbiology / Electronics / Agriculture as the Principal subject.

   4. P. G. Diploma in Env. Protection and Management (D.E.P.M.)
      The one year Post Graduate Diploma Course is open to any graduate from any faculty (i.e. B. Sc., B. Com., B. A.) with Minimum of 50% marks of the degree level.

   5. M. Sc. (for Applied Electronics at Solapur) : Only students of B. Sc. with Physics as Principal subject be held eligible.

   6. M. Sc. (Industrial Chemistry) : Admission to the course is open to candidates possessing B. Sc. degree with Chemistry as a Principal subject and any one of the following as subsidiary subject - Physics, Mathematics, Statistics.

   7. M. Sc. (Agrochemicals and Pest Management) : Admission to the course is open to candidates possessing B. Sc. degree with Chemistry / Botany / Zoology / Microbiology as a Principal subject and any two of the following as subsidiary subjects - Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Agriculture, Botany Seed Plant, Biochemistry and Plant Protection. However, one of the three subjects must be chemistry and one must be Botany or Zoology or Microbiology. OR

   8. B. Tech : or B. Chem. Engg. or equivalent degree with biology at least at Std. XII. Candidates with B. Sc. B. Tech., B. Chem. Engg. degree of Indian Universities are eligible provided the courses are given approval for equivalence to those of the Shivaji University. Those with degree from a recognised foreign University may also apply.

   9. M. Sc. (Sericulture) : A candidate, who has passed his/her B. Sc. Degree Examination with a minimum 50% marks, with either Principal Botany at B. Sc. III and Zoology at B. sc. II OR Zoology principal at B. Sc. III and Botany at B. Sc. II or B. Sc. (Microbiology) OR B. Sc. (Plant Protection) OR B. Sc. (Agri.), OR B. Tech. with LIFE SCIENCE as a Major Component, is eligible for Admission to the M. Sc. Course in SERICULTURE.

   10. M. sc. (Biochemistry) : Graduates in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, life Sciences as Principal Subjects with Chemistry or Biochemistry at least as minor subject are eligible for M. Sc. Course.

   11. Dip. in Hindi Translation : One year course is open to a candidate graduate of any statutory Indian University with Hindi as special subject or Graduate Hindi as a optional subject or any other degree (i.e. Rashtrabhasha Praveen, Rashtrabhasha Pandit etc. recognised by Govt. of India)

3. M. Ed. : Bachelor's Degree in Education or B. A., B. Ed. (Special) Integrator of this University or a degree of any other statutory University recognised as equivalent thereto with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in theory

4. M. Lib. and Inf. Science : Candidate must possess a Post-graduate Diploma in Lib. Sc./B. Lib. Sc./B. L. & Inf. Sc. Degree of this University or Degree equivalent thereto of any other University. Preference will be given to experienced candidates.

5. B. Lib. & Inf. Science : Candidates must have passed a degree examination of this University or an equivalent examination of a recognised University.

6. B. J. C. : A graduate of any subject from any discipline or graduate of any other University recognised by Shivaji University can apply to admission for Bachelor of Journalism and Communication, a professional course of one year duration. But the candidates for B. J. C. are selected on the basis of Entrance Test and personal interview.

7. M. J. C. : Admission to the course is open to candidates possessing : B. J. C./B. J./B. C. J. degree from this or any other recognised University OR Post-graduates, diploma from Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi.
   Subject to the above conditions, the final admission is based only on the merit at the Entrance examination and a personal interview.

8. M. Com. : Any Person who has taken the degree of the Bachelor of Commerce of this University or any other University recognised by this University as equivalent thereto.

9. Certificate Course in Foreign Language : The minimum qualification required is Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with English.

10. M. A. Vocal Music (Entire Music) : 1) B. A. with Music (Special) of Statutory Uty. OR 2) Any Degree of Statutory University & Dip. in Music OR Sangeet Visharad of recognised body like Gandharv Mahavidyalaya.
    Any B. A., B. Sc., B. Com. degree with dip. in Instrumental Music OR Sangeet Visharad

11. LL. M. : The student who have obtained LL. B. (Special) Degree under Three year Law Course or under five year Law Course of this University or a Degree of any other University recognized as equivalent to the LL. B. (Special) Degree of this University shall be eligible for the admission

1. Foreign students seating admission to S. U. K. will have to appear and pass the Entrance examination to be conducted by the University. The fees prescribed for this entrance examination is 300 dollars and for re-entrance examination is 50 dollars. The amount is to be remitted in the UCO Bank Vidyanagar, Kolhapur.
2. After passing the Entrance Examination you may take the regular admission in a college affiliated to this University where he desire to seek.
3. The final Eligibility Certificate will be issued to he/she by the University Office. The fees for the said Eligibility Certificate is Rs. 200/-.
4. He/she will have to produce the following documents along with your final Eligibility application
   • Student Visa/Passport.
   • Qualifying examination certificates in original along with a Xerox copy.
5. Provisional Eligibility Certificate is not final Eligibility Certificate. Final Eligibility Certificate will not be issued unless you appear and pass the Entrance Examination.
6. The Entrance Examination will be held the University Office, Humanities Building, Kolhapur.
7. The last date for receipt of Application for admission to Entrance Examination.
