Introduction: |
The Department
of Hindi is established in June 1993 and at
present it has three staff members; two
Professors; and one temporary lecturer with one
Reader post vacant. Out of three all the three
have secured Ph.D degrees. They are specialized in
Poetry, Prose, Translation and Comparative study.
The Department offers M.A, M.Phil., Ph.D. and
Diploma in Hindi Translation , Certificate course
in Hindi Nivedak. Courses .The intake capacity of
M.A is 60, Diploma in Hindi Translation is 50.
As far as general
representation is concerned more than 50% students
are from reserved category and nearly 60% students
are girls. Most of the students come from rural
areas of four district of Maharashtra viz.
Kolhapur, Sangli , Satara and Solapur and some
students from border areas of Karnataka.

these students are likely to join Shivaji
