Introduction : |
The department was
established in August 1998. The department
currently offers M.Sc., M.Phil, and Ph.D. in
Electronics. At present, there are 02 professors,
03 readers and 02 lecturers.
Academic flexibility has been introduced by the
university in the PG departments from June 2007.
Under the academic flexibility programme, M.Sc.
syllabus is thoroughly revised with structural
modifications and inclusion of new additional
theory papers and practical work component. It has
been now introduced with credit system along with
continuous internal evaluation [C.I.E.] system of
examination. All the faculty members were actively
involved in the syllabi revision programmes, which
were introduced in 2003-04 and 2008-09
Though all teachers are engaged in the academic
counseling, all the faculty members in the
department guide the students at the time of
enrolment, for competitive examinations and
placements. Students are also encouraged to take
participation in sports and extra curricular
activities.
Teachers in the department are encouraged to
attend refresher and orientation courses,
workshops, seminars and conferences. Further the
department organizes workshops, seminars every
year.
During the last 5 years, faculty members have
published: 60 research papers in international
journals, 30 research papers in national journals,
13 research papers in international conferences
and 54 research papers in national conferences.
The faculty of the department has also published
books on relevant topics at national and
international level.
The department faculty has received awards such as
Best Teacher Award, Best Journal Paper Award,
certificate of recognition, Certificate of
Excellence to name a few.
Thirteen students succeed in NET/SET examination.
Students also received state level awards in
sports, nomination for president of India medal,
Late Shantaram N. Vaingankar award and University
merit scholarships.

Services Offered : |
Besides central
university library in which there are 575 books
and 5 journal the department provides facility of
the departmental library to the students in which
there are 388 books. One magazine ‘Electronics For
You’ is made available in the departmental
library. There are 10 computers with printers and
Internet facility in the department. All the
faculty members have been provided computers with
the Internet facility, students also make use of
this facility.
