Right since the
inception of the Deptt., we have been conducting
activities in extension in education in the area
of four districts i.e. Sangli, Satara, Solapur &
Kolhapur through the affiliated colleges in the
four Districts.
Focus of these
activities is on -

To prepare
beneficiaries with functional approach.

To create conducive
atmosphere for awareness generation and

To provide
opportunities to the people for development of
skills. Special attention is given towards
target groups such as women both Rural and Urban
and slums, farmers, youth, out of school youth,
SCs, STs, slum dwellers etc.
Department organizes
activities/programmes based on needs of target
group. Deptt. mainly organizes activities in the
areas such as literacy, adult education,
continuing education, population education, human
rights education, legal literacy, women education,
consumer education, value education etc.
Department also
organizes vocational/ Career Oriented Programmes,
Equivalent and Quality of life Improvement
Programmes, Leadership and Human Resource
Development Programmes ; Deptt. also conduct
programmes to improve communication skills, life
skills, survival skills, vocational skills etc.
