Introduction
Centre for Community Development was established in April 2000 and at present, it has one non-vocational academic staff and steno-typist, junior clerk and other class IV staff. Non vocational academic staff has secured Ph.D.. degree.
We have organized 22 self Employment generating Certificate Courses in collaboration with 88 institutes under Shivaji University jurisdiction with 1610 participants. These Courses belong to Home Science, Paramedical, Technical, Agriculture and Computers. As far as the general representation is concerned nearly 50% participants are girls. Most of the students come from the rural areas of South Maharashtra and belong primarily to the SCs and STs classes. The average ratio of completion of Courses - is 98%. The drop-out ratio is 02%
The Department has two computers with Internet Connectivity. The Centre makes use of O.H.P. & L.C.D as well as various innovative training methods such as Group Discussions, Seminars and various games. The non-vocational academic staff is involved in Counselling of the PG students, non-teaching staff and various community members.The academic staff took part and presented Papers in 1 International, 2 National and 5 State Level seminars organized by Centre for Women’s Studies. Centre runs ‘Counselling Centre for PGs students’ in collaboration with Centre for Women’s Studies. Centre organized three days workshop, “Self Help Group” in collaboration with Municipal Corporation.
